Hundreds share Christmas together

Carisbrook Lions Clubʼs Christmas With Us attracted large crowds.

This year’s Christmas lunch events proved to be as successful as ever, with almost 250 people attending two events on the day.

Maryborough Toyota’s Christmas lunch and Carisbrook Lions Club’s Christmas With Us provide companionship, some festive cheer and a Christmas lunch to those who would otherwise go without.

Carisbrook Lions Club president Jefferson Hoober said their Christmas With Us event is a popular one.

“We can cater for around 140 people, and that’s how many we had in attendance this year,” he said.

“It was a great day, everyone had a lot of fun.

“We made sure everyone got a present and had a full meal, it’s important that everyone feels included at Christmas.

“Everyone was over the moon, they were absolutely rapt with the day.”

Maryborough Toyotaʼs Christmas lunch proved to be successful again this year.

Maryborough Toyota’s Christmas lunch attracted 80 people, with branch manager Chris Keen calling it a “very good day”.

“Christmas Day was very hot, but we had 80 people come along which was great,” he said.
