Hopeful Hawks

Anton Roche and Luke Kemp have been named as Talbotʼs newest senior coaching duo for season 2019.

After dipping out in finals for the past five seasons, Talbot’s 2019 campaign looks bright as newly appointed co-coaches Anton Roche and Luke Kemp hope to finally take the Hawks all the way.

In every season since 2014, Talbot has finished within the top eight, only to be knocked out in either elimination or semi finals.

After four years at the helm, former Talbot co-coaches Matt Smith and Dallas Byars stepped down from the role at the end of the 2018 season despite the side finishing in third place on the ladder after being knocked out of semi- finals.

Roche admitted that he and Kemp have been lucky to be gifted a top three side that has been on the cusp of making a grand final for several years.

“We know what we’ve got and we don’t take that for granted — that’s the last thing we want to do,” he said.

“We really strive to be successful and get the best out of everyone who steps foot in the place.
