Blazers looking for wins in first round for 2019

This weekend both the Maryborough Blazers and the Maryborough Lady Blazers will take to the court for the first time in 2019.

Both squads will head to Echuca this Saturday night and Swan Hill on Sunday afternoon for their first Country Basketball League (CBL) games of the year.

The men’s team finished their 2018 campaign in early December with a 4-2 win-loss ratio, plus a draw and in third place on the ladder.

After a cracking start to the season, the side finished their 2018 portion on a low with back-to-back losses in Mildura and Bendigo.

The Blazers will be looking to turn this around however as they have taken down both of this weekend’s competitors in past rounds.

The Lady Blazers will also take on Swan Hill and Echuca, but they will have to fight a lot harder if they wish to come away from the weekend with both wins.

A third placed Swan Hill will be the real test for the Lady Blazers who finished their 2018 season in fifth place on the ladder.
