Dylan’s Energy Breakthrough efforts celebrated

Energy Breakthrough organisers celebrated Dylan Lanfranchiʼs (second from left) contribution to the event as part of National Disability Week. Joshua Tull, Rhys Charlesworth, Ruby Adams, Meika Cornwill, Thomas Ross, Isabelle Barby and Amelia Rossi finished 10th overall for their team Super Saints.

While this year’s Energy Breakthrough is done and dusted, organisers celebrated the contribution of St. Augustine’s Primary School student Dylan Lanfranchi earlier this month, as part of National Disability Week.

Dylan and his pushcart team, Super Saints, finished 10th out of 39 teams at this year’s event and the grade five student, who was born with down syndrome said he loved every minute.

“Sprints were my favourite. I liked pushing and driving,” Dylan said.

St. Augustine’s Primary School Energy Breakthrough team manager, Kyra Wood, said safety was of course a priority, as was Dylan participating in the event.

“We wanted Dylan to have as close to full participation as possible,” she said.
