It was all one-way traffic in the Maryborough District Tennis Association’s A grade division last round, as premiership fancies Bealiba and Avoca both glided to victory in imperious fashion.
Bealiba trounced Moonambel under lights on Friday night, taking out all nine sets for the evening.
Jackson Fitzpatrick and Steven Gell wasted no time in stamping their authority on the match, rolling Daryl Driscoll and Josh Barker 8-0 to give their team the perfect start.
It was also a winning return to the court for Tyson Mortlock, who eased back in with an 8-5 result teaming with Jackson against Mark Summerfield and Daryl.
It was a similar story on the women’s side, as the Bealiba trio of Alix Ford, Bethany Fitzpatrick and Ashleigh Ross had all the answers on the way to successive 8-1, 8-4, 8- 2 set wins.
Moonambel was looking for some consolation points in the mixed sets, but it wasn’t to be as their best pairing of Taryn Soulsby and Daryl went down to Jackson and Ashleigh 5-8.
The big win sees Bealiba maintain second spot on the ladder ahead of Avoca, who dished out a 34-game thumping to Lawn Green.
