After going two from two, the Maryborough Lady Blazers suffered their first loss of the 2018- 19 season at the hands of the Kyneton Tigers on Saturday night.
In their first away match of the season, the Blazers suffered a heartbreaking 62-44 defeat.
Being so far away, the Blazers didn’t have a full list for the game, taking to the Kyneton court with nine of their best.
Maggie Tranter was the highest scorer for the side with 16 points, followed by Claire Blower with eight, Keely Hare and Millie Cracknell on six apiece, Brandy Stanton on four and Jordan Macilwain and Bella Westbrook on two points each.
The Tigers’ win came from all over the court with nine of their players hitting the board throughout the game and a list of 12 to pick from.
Kyneton now sits one place above the Blazers on the North East Women’s ladder ahead of round four, which sees Maryborough back at home to host the Swan Hill Lady Flyers.
Swan Hill hasn’t played ball since round one, where it claimed an 80-39 win over Echuca and a 61-49 victory over Kyneton.
