Clunes was able to reward its president with a win in his 200th A grade game at the weekend, defeating Laanecoorie Dunolly all out for 89 to 1/92.
Maryborough District Cricket Association royalty Mark Allen played his 200th A grade game for the Pies at the weekend and was rewarded with an easy victory over last season’s one-day premiers.
Clunes sent Laane to bat first after winning the toss and Nathan Liest and Paul Waddington were the first to pick up the Willow.
Neither Leist nor Waddington made it onto the scorecard before they were claimed by Clunes bowlers Brendan Robinson and Ash Gunn.
Nathan Nikolic (9) and Brad McHugh (7) were also knocked over with minimal contribution to the score.
Zac Polinelli was Laane’s top runscorer for the day, putting up 40 runs before he was claimed by Jeremy Beggs.
Brady Templeton (1) was also claimed by Beggs while Jackson Goodwin was claimed by Mark Allen.
Connor O’Shea managed to put up 15 runs, the second highest total for Laane, before he was also claimed by Allen.
Steven Dellavedova (6) was the last to add runs to the score as Nathan Dellavedova (0) and Dylin Leist (0 not out) were unable to score before Nathan was run out.
