Bounce backs Maryborough Blazers as major sponsor

The Maryborough Blazers have landed a two-year sponsorship deal with local business Bounce Australia. Bounce Australia founder and CEO Maria Smith (far right)
met with the team last Thursday to announce the funding.

The Maryborough Blazers have landed a major sponsor for the first time in two years.

The Blazers will be sponsored by local company Bounce Australia for the Country Basketball League’s 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

The Blazers are completely self funded and operate without finance from their home base the Mary- borough Sports and Leisure Centre.

Without a sponsor, players and their families are forced to bare the full cost of accommodation and travel to play games across Victoria.

Blazers playing coach Brady Neill said the side is grateful that Bounce have decided to sponsor the side.

“Having a big sponsor like Bounce helps us financially on the road,” Neill said.

“When we have to go to places like Mildura, we have to find our own way up there and find our own accommodation so this will help us out a lot.

“Having Bounce on board also helps us look a bit more professional when we’re travelling around Victoria, having that named sponsor is really important.”

Sponsorship can be hard to come by and the Maryborough Lady Blazers are still on the hunt for a major sponsor of their own.
