MKM will again take to its home pitch this weekend, when it hosts a confident Maryborough at Ron Sinclair Oval.
Mill will be on the hunt for its first win of the season after a four-wicket loss at the hands of Clunes last weekend.
The Magpies needed just 35 overs to grab victory over MKM after Mill’s mild performance at the crease.
Although Joel Radlof (38) and Nathan Koenig (40) had the best individual scores, opening batsmen Liam Radlof and Kieran Johns had the most productive batting partnership for Mill, producing 65 runs together.
Despite showing up seventh in the batting order last weekend, Steven Shovan made a 28-run contribution for MKM.
Newly appointed skipper Guy Cornwill is sure to be reevaluating the batting order ahead of this weekend’s clash with Maryborough.
The Owls are likely in high spirits after defeating Laane, last season’s one- day premiers, on Saturday.
Sam Bartlett was instrumental in Maryborough’s win, racking up 46 runs in his Maryborough District Cricket Association return.
