Trentham humbled by Harcourt in semi final routing

Trenthamʼs Tom Walker handpasses during the Saintsʼ preliminary finals loss to Harcourt.

Harcourt has set up a tantalising preliminary final encounter with Natte Bealiba after demolishing Trentham by 81 points in the first semi final of the 2018 season.

The Saints were disappointingly poor, but the Lions were far too classy for their opponents, roaring to a 17.10 (112) to 4.7 (31) routing.

The result means Harcourt will meet Natte Bealiba this Sunday at Princes Park with the Lions heading into the preliminary final clash as the only team to have beaten the Swans this season.

They’ll arrive at the game off the back of some blistering form displayed at the weekend.

A 12-goal to one first half accounted for 70 points of the eventual 81-point margin that stood between Harcourt and Trentham at a cold and at times wet Princes Park.

The game tightened around the contest in the second half, but not on the scoreboard as Harcourt went into preservation mode with the game all but won.

Saturday’s result was set in stone early as Harcourt piled on the first five goals of the game.
