LIVE COVERAGE: 2018 Berry Powell Medal and Nalder-Tracey Trophy

The Maryborough District Advertiser is live from the Maryborough District Castlemaine District Football Netball League’s 2018 Berry Powell Medal and Nalder Tracey Trophy presentation evening.

The first awards of the night are the Rookie of the Year awards for football and netball.

9 pm

The MCDFNL football coach of the year is Natte Bealiba’s Jarrod Bateson.

Bateson will lead the Swans into the grand final this Saturday. It’s the club’s first senior football grand final since the premiership year of 2011.

8.30 pm

Carisbrook’s Luke Robinson has taken out the 2018 reserves football best and fairest award.

He polled 18 votes with a three in the final round moving him past Avoca’s Jason Hunt. Hunt finished with 16 votes.

8.20 pm

The reserves football leading goal kicker for 2018 is Maldon’s Jamie Cox with 110 goals.

8 pm

Lisa Britt is the B grade netball best and fairest for 2018. The Newstead representative won the count with 30 votes and a round to spare.

Harcourt’s Suzie Rinaldi and Julia Boatman of Natte Bealiba were the runners-up on 24 votes.

7.20 pm 

The best player in the 2018 C grade netball season has been decided.

Royal Park’s Kodie Smith has won the award with 27 votes. She won the same award in 2016.

Maryborough Rovers’ Krystal Parker, 15, was the runner-up on 24 votes. Bec Gerrard of Lexton was in third place with 22.

The Max Martin Administrator of the Year award has gone to Carisbrook’s Carlene Dowie.

7.05 pm

The netball rookie of the year award has been won by Elise Mottram from Carisbrook. With 20 votes, Mottram won from Trentham’s Sharna Ford on 16 votes.

Carisbrook’s Harrison Butler has been named as the football rookie of the year for 2018 with 17 votes.

In second place was on Zac Mortlock from Natte Bealiba.
