Cornwills pumped up for Carisbrook finals

The Cornwill household, including Melissa, Travis, Meika and Jenna, will be donning Carisbrook colours come Saturday and say the whole club is behind the players featuring in this weekendʼs matches.

Grand final fever has well and truly taken over the Cornwill household, with three family members gearing up to descend on Princes Park for their season deciding showdowns this weekend.

Carisbrook faithfuls Travis, Melissa and 13-year-old Jenna will be taking to the court and the football field for the Redbacks in the reserves football, A grade and under 13 netball grand finals come Saturday and have said there is a buzz around the dinner table.

“There are a bit of nerves flying round, but we’re all really excited to not only be part of the grand finals but to support the whole club,” Melissa said.

“I’m sure the whole town will be down at Princes Park on Saturday, everyone at the club lives and breathes football and netball. Everyone is really passionate.

“There is always a sea of black and red at every game and the intensity and support certainly fires up during finals. It’s going to be a big day for the town.”

Travis and Melissa have both taken on coaching roles, as well as various others, throughout their time at Carisbrook and said the club spirit has been strong throughout the year.
