Cassidy selected for state golf team

Maryborough Education Centre year six student Millie Cassidy has been selected for the School Sport Victoria under 12s golf team.

Maryborough Education Centre student Millie Cassidy has been named in the School Sport Victoria 12 and under state golf team.

Cassidy braved wet and windy conditions during the Golf Victoria junior tournament mid last month which saw her shoot a score of 97, from the ladies’ tees to place second in the girls’ section.

Cassidy will now head to the Bellarine Peninsula in mid- November to represent the Victorian team in the SSV Championships.

Cassidy has been training hard at the Maryborough club and through the Ballarat District Girls Development squad.

The talented 11-year-old has also been invited to attend the West Vic Academy of Sport’s golf program which is usually opened to talented athletes once they hit secondary school.
