The senior Carisbrook Lady Redbacks will head into semi- finals after a 37-point win over Bacchus Marsh in the closing round of the 2018 AFL Goldfields Women’s home and away season.
The Redbacks started strong in last weekend’s match, booting four goals to Bacchus Marsh’s one in the opening quarter.
The Cobras stepped it up in the second term, taking six shots at goal but only coming away with one major.
The Redbacks slotted two more goals to leave themselves a comfortable 22-point gap at the halftime siren.
A third quarter blitz would see Carisbrook bag its last goals for the game, adding three to its total.
The Cobras had ran out of steam by the third and didn’t change score at all.
Brook’s momentum slowed in the final term, with the Redbacks slotting just one point during the whole quarter.
Marsh managed to narrow the gap by 10 points before the final siren, but a score of 3.9 (27) to 9.10 (64) secured the Redbacks their ninth win for the season and sees them head into the semi-finals.
