Carisbrook is one step closer to the minor premiership after claiming another massive win, defeating Lexton by 92 points on Saturday.
The reigning premiers’ 10th straight victory came in a fashion that has become typical in 2018 with the Tigers becoming yet another victim of the Redbacks’ stifling defence in the 18.12 (120) to 4.4 (28) result.
Carisbrook’s win was also punctuated by another common sight in the side’s winning streak, a forward kicking a bag of goals. However, this time it wasn’t Ash Munari, it was Liam Cunningham.
The live-wire forward and league’s second leading goal scorer booted seven goals in the victory to bring his 2018 tally to 63.
Munari, meanwhile, nailed three and his season tally now stands at 92, leaving him needing eight goals against Navarre in next Saturday’s final round for a rare 100-goal home and away season.
Although Lexton was fighting to guarantee a finals position, the Tigers were rarely in Saturday’s fight.
