Maryborough’s Federation College students are lending a hand to animals in need this month.

Students are combining their skills to run a donation drive to collect food and blankets for the RSPCA as part of their personal development unit, and students Sam Melton and Tenille Bennett said the aim is to get over 150 donations.

“This is a school project which we’ve been getting really involved in. We’re trying to get as many donations as possible,” Tenille said.

“It’s good to collect donations for a cause like this.”

With 24 donations received so far, the students are encouraging local residents to dig deep and donate whatever they can to the cause.

Students are seeking donations of dog and cat food and old blankets and towels.

The drive will finish on June 26, and donations can be dropped off at the college on week days between 9 am and 3 pm.
