Carisbrook’s Lauren Butler has been named as one of the Western Bulldogs’ best players in her VFLW debut at the weekend.
Butler stood out for the Western Bulldogs in its round four clash with Collingwood, kicking one goal and one behind.
The Dogs are still yet to win a game this season however, with the Magpies taking home a 4.6 (30) to 6.2 (38) win on Saturday.
Butler is no stranger to high pressure football but said she still felt nervous before her VFLW debut.
“Beforehand I was very nervous, but once I started playing it was actually a lot of fun and a really good experience,” she said.
Western Bulldogs’ VFLW list manager Steve Richards said that Butler will “definitely play a few more games” for the Dogs this season after her performance last Saturday.
“She brought us speed over the weekend which was much needed,” he said.
