Avoca has saluted the 600-game milestone of Trevor ‘Baz’ Field with a win.

The Bulldogs’ reserves side beat Newstead at Avoca Public Park on Saturday, honouring Field’s mammoth games tally with a 51-point win.

Avoca was never troubled in the game, breaking away to an early lead to set up the 12.11 (83) to 4.8 (42) win.

The evergreen Field, a 36-year veteran and life member of the Avoca FNC, had an impact in his milestone, booting two goals much to the delight of a large home crowd.

After the game, Field was presented with a commemorative plaque from the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League by league president Stephen Broad, who congratulated the Avoca stalwart on his footballing achievements.
