Rovers run away to biggest win since 2011

Campbells Creekʼs Jordan Picken and Roversʼ Bryce Fletcher face up to each other in battle.

Campbells Creek’s poor start to the 2018 season has gone from bad to worse, with the Magpies slumping to an 180-point belting at the hands of Maryborough Rovers on Saturday.

Creek fell to their biggest loss of the season and conceded 50 scoring shots in the 28.22 (190) to 1.4 (10) hammering, Rovers’ biggest win since round six of the 2011 season when the Magpies defeated Royal Park by 209 points.

The 1.4 (10) Campbells Creek scored on Saturday is the lowest total Rovers has conceded since the MCDFNL’s 2011 expansion, signalling how dominant the performance at Jubilee Oval was.

The high-flying Karson Guareschi was dominant up forward for Rovers, booting eight goals to lead a list of 10 individual goal kickers.

Eight of those goal kickers scored multiple majors with Adam Fenton booting four while Kaylab Eggers and Montgomery Reeves slotted three apiece.
