Carisbrook’s Lauren Butler will make her debut in the Victorian Women’s Football League this weekend.
Announced on Thursday morning, Butler, 17, has been selected in the Western Bulldogs’ final 22 for this Saturday’s clash with Collingwood.
Western Bulldogs VFLW list manager Steve Richards said Butler was an obvious selection for the round three clash, considering her form and leadership experience in captaining the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the TAC Cup Girls this season.
“We’re excited to have Lauren come into the team,” Richards said.
“She’s a fantastic young lady and we’ve been impressed with her leadership. She’s been excellent at training and hopefully having someone young like her come into the team will help us this weekend and also build something for the future.”
The Western Bulldogs’ clash with Collingwood will get underway at the Victoria University Whitten Oval at 2 pm this Saturday.
