Woman hospitalised following dog attack

A woman was hospitalised with minor injuries after she and her dog were attacked by another dog in Maryborough last week.

At approximately 8.30 am last Friday, a dog, described as medium and brown in colour, attacked the woman, aged in her 70s, and her dog while walking in Gillies Street near Golden Wattle Drive.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken via ambulance to Maryborough District Health Service just after 8.30 am with soft tissue damage.

Her dog, believed to be a terrier, also suffered minor injuries that required surgery on its back legs.

Local authorities, including the Central Goldfields Shire local laws rangers, were notified of the incident but have not been able to locate the dog responsible for the attack.
