A much-loved local player is set to make his coaching debut at Royal Park this year after the Tigers’ announced their new dual coaches for season 2018.
Murray Bond has taken on the role alongside Zac Stewart, and the pair have big plans for the upcoming season. Playing football at local clubs such as Maryborough and Avoca over his career, Bond has played with the Tigers for the past three years.
Taking on the coaching role for the first time, Bond said he is looking forward to entering his fourth season as a playing coach.
“I took on the role to expand the guy’s knowledge; I’ve been around the group for a couple of years and I thought I could take them a little bit further and really improve the group we have,” he said.
According to Bond, this season the side will focus on “higher standards” and “higher intensity” play.
