Clunes entered the second innings of its round 12 clash with Colts Phelans in top form, taking its fifth victory of the 2017-18 season.
Clunes’ batsmen were unstoppable during the first innings, with Mark Allen smashing a century (104) and Mitch Coppick a half century (51).
The duo made more than half of the Magpies’ score, and eventually saw the side finish 9/221.
It was a big total for the Colts to chase down, and entering the second innings 1/33, they were unable to match Clunes’ tally.
A run of bad luck saw the Colts’ batsmen unable to make any significant scores, with Rylan Jardine making the highest total of the day, 15.
Nicholas Henderson (13) was the only other batsman able to crack 10 runs for the duration of the innings, seeing the Colts all out for 108.
Samuel Williams made a significant dent in the Colts’ batting side, taking a whopping 6/23 during his 16 overs, while Ashley Gunn also came in hot to take 2/21.
Feeling confident in their total, the Magpies sent the Colts back in to bat out another 31.5 overs in the hopes of an outright win and a full six premiership points.
