Emmerson Wood is making waves in the swimming world, taking on young swimmers from around Australia and overseas in Adelaide last month.
Emmerson was selected as one of seven 12-year-old girls on the 106 member-strong Victorian team to compete at the 2017 School Sport Australia Pacific School Games.
Swimming in two individual events and three relays over the course of the week-long event, she competed against students from around Australia and countries including Fiji, India, Macau, New Zealand, Pakistan and Singapore.
Emmerson said it was her biggest competition to date and it was “very exciting” when she found out she had made the team.
“It was really good, it was a huge event,” Emmerson said.
