Bella bound for Albury competition

Bella Westbrook is making all the right moves to become an international basketball player as she takes on her fifth Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup this weekend.

At 15 years old Bella Westbrook is an old hand when it comes to national basketball tournaments.

Next week will see her compete at her fifth Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup with under 18 Victorian team the Goldminers.

In its 32nd year, the event will take place in Albury with competition set to begin on Sunday and continue for seven days.

Bella will compete against teams from across the country and New Zealand and said she hopes this will be the year her team can break into the grand final.

“In the past, the team has made the finals,” she said.

“It would be good to go further this year.”

Meeting the age requirement for the under 18 side for the first time, Bella said she is “looking forward to the competition”.
