Wobelee has reaffirmed his status as harness racings finest two-year-old with an utterly dominant performance, claim- ing the Redwood Classic on Sunday.
In trying conditions, the Chris Alford driven two-year-old was simply a class above the field as he edged out Regal Assasin and Smashthemcalder to claim the prestigious group one event.
The victory is Wobelee’s eighth consecutive victory and his third group one win of the season, which Maryborough Harness Racing
Complex manager Les Chapman says added even more to the prestigious carnival.
“It was a simply awesome performance,” Chapman said.
“He (Wobelee) really stamped his stature among two-year-old trotters,” he said.
While Wobelee’s victory wasn’t unexpected, the day’s other group one event, the Victoria Trotters Derby, offered up a surprise winner in the form of Une Belle Allure.
