Swans hand Harcourt loss to settle in third

Emmet Smith handballs from a pack in Natte Bealibaʼs impressive 65-point win over Harcourt.

Natte Bealiba has moved further ahead of Harcourt in the race for third place after the Swans downed the Lions by 65 points.

With the chance to wrench third spot from the Swans’ grasp on the line, the Lions fell short, going down 13.17 (95) to 4.6 (30).

A slow start proved costly for the Lions, scrounging just a solitary behind for the opening term in comparison to a five-goal start from the Swans.

An improved second quarter from Harcourt earned the Lions two goals, but Natte added another of its own to maintain a 30-point lead.

That margin extended to 46- points at the final break on the back of some supremely executed football from the Swans, before a four-goal final term sealed the Lions’ fate.
