More than $4.4 million in transport capital works projects is set to be delivered by the Central Goldfields Shire Council over the next 12 months.
Funded as part of the council budget, the works are set to be delivered in the 2017-2018 financial year and include improvements to pavements, kerbs, unsealed roads, footpath upgrades and replacements and road rehabilitations.
Central Goldfield Shire mayor Geoff Lovett said the expenditure reflects council’s commitment to improving and building new infrastructure for the community.
“The program of works includes improvements to road infra- structure, footpaths, signage and furniture renewal,” he said.
“It’s important for us to deliver a program of works that maintains the assets that we have while delivering new infrastructure for our community to enjoy.”
