The minor premiership and an early psychological advantage are on the line this week when the MCDFNL’s top two teams, Navarre and Carisbrook, once again lock horns.
Over the past three seasons the Redbacks and Grasshoppers have formed a bitter rivalry, playing off in the past three grand finals, all of which Navarre has come away from victorious.
However, despite recent history Carisbrook co-coach Jackson Bowen says his side isn’t preparing any differently.
“We’re not treating it any differently to any other week,” Bowen said.
“We’ll just make sure we get our structures right and hope we can come away with the win,” he said.
While the Redbacks have come up short in the past three grand finals, Carisbrook managed to extract a small piece of revenge back in round five of this season, defeating Navarre by 22 points.
