The MCDFNL is no closer to finding out which side out of Carisbrook and Maryborough Rovers poses a bigger threat to the 2017 premiership after the two teams fought out a thrilling draw in round two.
The contest between the Redbacks and the Pies proved to be deserving of its Saturday night timeslot with no more than two goals separating the sides at any of the game’s major breaks.
Carisbrook held the ascendency early, boasting a two goal, 10-8, lead at quarter time.
The Redbacks maintained that margin in the second quarter to lead 19-17 at halftime, but Rovers clawed their way back to level with a 10 goal to eight third term seeing the scores levelled at 27 goals apiece at the final break.
The teams then remained locked together on the scoreboard until the final whistle with the fourth term expiring with scores locked at 34-34.
