Maryborough footballers Coby Perry and Bailey Edwards have had their first taste of VFL football for 2017.
The Maryborough products both played their first games for North Ballarat on Friday night, recalled into the side as part of four changes the Roosters were forced to make due to injuries and a suspension.
The injection of the young Maryborough duo into an already young North Ballarat failed to help the Roosters, who suffered a 129- point loss to Footscray.
While the loss was bad for the Roosters, the two Maryborough players contributed with Edwards listed in North Ballarat’s best players after holding his own against the Footscray side that was littered with AFL-listed players including Mitch Wallis, Tory Dickson and Shane Biggs.
The pair have been selected to play for the Roosters again this weekend in a game against Sandringham.
