Maryborough back on top of MDCA

Maryborough has claimed the MDCA A grade premiership with a thrilling six-run win at Princes Park on Saturday.

Resuming its second innings at 6/82 with captain Corey Taylor unbeaten on 43, Maryborough set about building upon its lead of 149.

However, luck was with Creswick early on as Taylor was dismissed early for 50 as Maryborough’s final four wickets fell for just a further 14 runs to take the Owls’ total to 96 all- out.

Set 165 for victory, Creswick looked destined to slump to a heavy defeat as Martin Dell made light work of the Imperials’ top order, removing both openers Joel (3) and Matthew (4) Antonio cheaply.
