Matthew Dellavedova and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates have returned to a heroes’ welcome in their home town.
Just hours after they snapped the city’s 52-year championship drought, the Cavaliers touched down in front of more than 20,000 screaming fans at Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport.
While some of the Cavs might have been feeling slightly under the weather after a stopover in Las Vegas, where they celebrated the historic title at a casino nightclub, the reaction of the success-starved Cavs fans would have been the ultimate cure for any hangover.
While the crowd’s biggest cheer was undoubtedly reserved for superstar and NBA Finals MVP LeBron James, who emerged from the team jet carrying the Larry O’Brien Trophy, Dellavedova received one of the most rapturous responses.
