The Navarre Football Netball Club has recorded a historic double win with both the senior football and A grade netball sides being crowned the 2013 Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League premiers on Sunday.

It was a dominate display by both the Grasshopper sides in front of the large crowd that had gathered at Princes Park in perfect weather conditions to witness the end of the 2013 season, as the two senior sides cruised to big winning margins over Lexton to claim their maiden MCDFNL premierships.

The victories put a painful two years behind the NFNC which saw both sides finish as runners-up in the previous two seasons since making their entrance into the MCDFNL in 2011.

Riding into the grand final on a high from last week’s massive victory over Carisbrook in the preliminary final, the Navarre senior football team dominated the day’s play on their way to recording the 100 point victory with the final scoreline reading, Navarre 19.12 (126) defeating Lexton 2.4 (26).
