Maryborough’s VicRoads office has officially been re-opened after undergoing an extensive facelift.
One of the highest-yielding VicRoads offices in Victoria, serving a huge catchment area from Charlton to Kyneton, the Maryborough agency has been entirely refurbished to create a more user friendly space.
Speaking at the official re-opening of the branch, Central Goldfields Shire mayor, Paula Nixon said the office provided Maryborough and surrounding areas with an important service.
“It provides the town with an economic boost, as visiting customers take the time to shop and eat while in town” Cr Nixon said.
“It is therefore critical the service remains high quality. This means it has to be clean, modern and customer focussed, now and into the future.
“The refurbishment has helped ensure this will be possible.”
Maryborough VicRoads manager, Mark Robertson said the changes had already made a real impact.
“The most important improvement has been the increase in parking and the improved disabled access to the building,” he said.
“It has made the job easier and more efficient, and the customers have noticed and appreciate that.
“Furthermore, it is a far more pleasant working environment for all the staff and we’re very glad it has happened.”
