Teams from Maryborough and district have tasted success at the 20th RACV Energy Breakthrough.
In perfect weather a record crowd watched as 337 were judged and raced over the four day event.
A strong performance by Highview College in the display and presentation category saw them named the overall winner of the human powered vehicle open section.
The school’s Magical Indigo Love Fox vehicle won the overall event, however it was Bendigo Senior Secondary College team Squirrel who set a cracking pace and took line honours in the 24 hour trial.
Team Squirrel was first over the line, completing 696 laps of the 1.3 kilometre course and led most of the race.
The all female class was won by St Margaret’s School/Berwick Grammar and Maryborough Education Centre and Cobden Technical College cleaned up in the hybrid classes.
