Man to plead guilty on child porn charges

A Maryborough man will appear before Bendigo County Court next month after pleading guilty to seven charges including using the internet to transmit child pornography and to groom a child for sex.

Bryan Cooper, 25 appeared in Bendigo County Court on Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty to seven charges including using a carriage service to access and transmit child pornography, using a carriage service to procure a child under the age of 16 and knowingly possessing child pornography.

He was represented in court on Tuesday by the former president of the Bendigo Law Association, solicitor Megan Aumair of Bendigo legal firm, Stella Stuthridge and Associates.

Cooper’s legal team on Tuesday also included a Melbourne-based barrister.
