Retiring Liberal MP John Vogels yesterday said an elected Coalition government would deliver $2.5 million to help boost economic and social prosperity in Central Goldfields.
In Maryborough yesterday the retiring MLC for Western Victoria said that if successful at the polls this Saturday a state Coalition government will deliver $2.5 million towards Central Goldfields Shire’s Go Goldfields project.
“This is brilliant,” Central Goldfields Mayor, Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor greeted the pre-election promise.
Such funding would go to the “heart of real need” to make a positive difference for the region’s youth, Cr Meddows-Taylor said.
Mr Vogels, 64, retires at this election after being elected to parliament as MP for Warrnambool in 1999, beginning his term as MLC for Western Victoria in 2006.
