Two year dental wait crisis in Maryborough

Shadow Minister for Health, David Davis has accused Member for Ripon, Joe Helper of neglecting Maryborough residents struggling with lengthy waits for dental services in the area.

“Joe Helper has neglected residents in Maryborough who waited more than two years for general dental treatment, and he has arrogantly ignored the growing dental crisis,” Mr Davis said.

The most recent figures show that residents accessing the Maryborough District Health Service, in the electorate of Ripon, have been forced to wait 25 months for general dental care as at June 2009, an increase of six months on the previous year.

The length of wait for denture care was one year as at June 2009, a dramatic increase of nine months on the previous year.
