Maryborough defender, Alisha Chadwick, has been crowned the Bendigo Football Netball League’s premier netballer, taking home the Betty Thompson Medal on Sunday.

The veteran goal defence polled 24 votes to win the prestigious award from Sandhurst mid-court gun, Meaghan Atkins, at Sunday’s BFNL best and fairest presentations.

Chadwick polled strongly towards the end of the season and was awarded three best on courts during the home-and-away season.

It is the crowning glory in Chadwick’s lengthy netball career, which spans 25 years, and includes a record seven club best-and-fairests and the games record at Maryborough, despite missing two seasons to give birth to her two children, Tali and Archie.
