Two Australian icons were in Maryborough on Tuesday to meet with a group of community and business leaders about the unique opportunities to Maryborough with the return of passenger rail services later this year.
Trucking magnate, Lindsay Fox and former union secretary, Bill Kelty spoke to the group in the Maryborough Railway Station.
The pair also visited senior students at the Maryborough Education Centre.
Mr Fox and Mr Kelty have been assisting the Federal Government over the past several months with the Keep Australia Working initiative, visiting areas hardest hit by the downturn in the economy.
Now as the economy improves, the pair are shifting their focus on inspiring towns to promote the creation of employment and maximising opportunities as they arise – notably in Maryborough, the return of passenger rail services.
Mr Fox encouraged the Maryborough population to unite and work as a community to create the outcomes it desires.
