The Maryborough Lions Club have donated a cart to the Maryborough Riding for Disabled.
At a special evening held last week, and attended by Lions Australia district governor Jill Qualtrough, club members were shown a special display of how the cart works.
It is specially designed to carry people with disabilities, especially those in a wheelchair, and give them the joy of horse riding offered by the Maryborough RDA.
The back lowers, allowing a wheelchair to be loaded and then locked in place. The rider is then taken by horse with an instructor sitting right beside them.
Volunteers from RDA said the cart would be very popular.
The club raised $3630 from its monthly market, raffles and other events and were delighted with the final result.
