Family First leader makes a visit to city
By Sam Gowers • Jul 30th, 2010 • Category: NewsFamily First Senator, Steve Fielding, visited Maryborough earlier this week as he kicks off the regional segment of his election campaign.
Alongside Family First candidate for Bendigo, Alan Howard, Senator Fielding, the leader of the Family First party, made a whirlwind trip of Central Victoria, with stops in Maryborough, Castlemaine, Bendigo and Heathcote, while also officially launching Mr Howard’s campaign.
Senator Fielding said he may be the only leader of any political party to visit the area before the August 21 election.
“Family First is serious about looking after the needs of people in Central Victoria and that’s why I’m here with Alan Howard to hear and to listen to the communities’ concerns,” Senator Fielding said.
“It’s important that people think about their vote and at least take a look at a third party like Family First to keep an eye on the two major parties who very often put themselves before people they represent.”
