MCDFNL romp in
By Graeme Grant • Jun 16th, 2010 • Category: FootballThe Bendigo Bank Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League reclaimed its pride on Saturday when it handed the Lexton Plains Football League a lesson by defeating them by 50 points at Princes Park.
The MCDFNL picked a fast running team that hunted in numbers around the packs, keeping their players fresh by rotating through the bench and continually drove the ball forward.
It was a dominant display as they finished the game off strongly in the final term and but for inaccuracy around the scoring zone, could quite easily have won by a much bigger margin.
Lexton Plains won the toss and kicked to the scoreboard end and the game was only alive for two minutes when Kiernan Molloy received a free kick for a high tackle and slotted a goal for Lexton Plains.
However, Brendan Lloyd was very lively early and answered with a checkside goal shortly after.
