Bill bags a hole-in-one on the 18th

Some golfers play their entire lives and never get a hole-in-one.

For Maryborough golfer, Bill Bartlett, it seems it’s as easy as one, two, three.

Bill, who’s been playing the Maryborough Golf Course since the 1960s, landed his third hole-in-one during the club’s Tuesday’s stableford competition earlier this week, which was his second ace in competition play.

Talbot Golf Club held its annual tournament last week starting with a two person ambrose event for both men and women on Wednesday.



Dunolly golf tournament

Dunolly Golf Club held its 2010 annual tournament starting last Friday with the Phelan Funerals 4BBB stableford event.

Winners were Graham Bilson and John Purcell with 49 points on a countback from Barry Lacey and Dave McDonald.



Win for Garry

Despite just turning 15 years of age a few days ago, Garry Sluce has won the blue ribbon event of the Maryborough Golf Club’s June Tournament, the men’s 27 hole scratch.

The youngster, who was playing off a handicap of just one, didn’t have everything his own way however, as he had to go down the 19th hole for a playoff against Simon Sheedy (0).

The Maryborough Education Centre student has been a member of the under 14 Victorian Development Squad for two years.
