On Tuesday at the Maryborough Highland Society, Talbot defeated Golf Gold to advance to the Maryborough District Ladies Bowling Association pennant grand final next week.
Talbot Gold made it the Year of the Yabby on Saturday when it won its third straight division one Midlands Bowls Association premiership, defeating Golf Blue 76-49.
Not many weeks ago, Dunolly Blue was outside the top four of the Maryborough District Ladies Bowling Association pennant ladder but has now won a grand final berth.
Golf Blue, Newstead Blue and Carisbrook Red won the Midlands Bowls Association preliminary finals on Saturday and will be playing in the grand finals this coming Saturday.
Talbot Gold won its way into the Midlands Bowls Association division one pennant grand final after defeating Golf Blue 73-59 in Saturday’s second semi final at Dunolly.
The Midlands Bowls Association semi finals will be contested in three divisions tomorrow at Dunolly, the Maryborough Highland Society and Newstead greens.
Newstead’s Bill Burnett and Vic Hennessy of Avoca will contest the final of the Midlands Bowls Association Champion of Champions next Sunday at Dunolly starting at 9.30 am.
In a very exciting conclusion to the Maryborough District Ladies Bowling Association pennant home and away competition on Tuesday, Avoca and Talbot played a tie while Maryborough Highland Society fell from ladder leadership to missing out on the finals altogether.
