Seven long months after the 2016 grand final was played, the MCDFNL finally kicks off again tonight when Maryborough Rovers take on Lexton and there’s a significant injection of star power to further add to the occasion.
Former Port Adelaide and Richmond star Troy Chaplin will take the field for the Rovers, alongside brother Jarred, a talented football in his own right.
Both men are listed on Rovers’ official clearance list and Gary Chaplin, the duos father confirmed both will line up in round one.
“They’ll be playing. They both wanted to play with each other. Jarred’s come back to play with them and Troy will play when he can, it just depends what’s happening with Melbourne,” Chaplin said.
